April 22nd, 2008 by estefany

This tutorial will show how to make an ad mixing different images and techniques in a simple way.

Step 01

On a new document, make a gradient as shown below.

Step 01

Step 02

You can use a sunburst brush to make the sunlight (there are some at deviantART, like this one ) and delete below the horizon line.

Sunburst

Step 03

Apply the filter Gaussian Blur (Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur). You can also low the layer opacity and apply a layer mask to soften the sunlight.

Gaussian Blur

Step 04

Add the lemon slice and delete below the horizon line. Place the bottle and rotate.

Step 05

Place the image with the water and modify the colors using the command Color Balance (Ctrl + B).

Step 06

Now use the Smudge Tool (R) to make the bottle seem to be fluctuating on the water. Add a layer mask to mask some parts making it transparent.

Step 07

Insert the lemon slice again, but now distort it as you can see at the image below (Ctrl + T).

Step 08

Create two ellipses, with the Elliptical Marquee Tool, in different layers: a green one and a white one. Blur the white ellipse to make the volume and reflex of the water.

Step 09

Duplicate the group and put some lemon slices on the water. Don’t forget to resize it according to the distance.
